Remove Downloader.Blackbeard

The most common malware infections to computers and server systems nowadays are from Trojans.  These type of malware can be spread through email and from auto download scripts from pop-ups located on shady websites (pornography, gambling, live streaming, and torrents).    Once inside your system, it can destroy your operating system by taking over it and overwrite system files, data files, and much worse it can it will open a back door for other malware to enter your computer and do more damage.

One of the most known and potent backdoor opening malware is the Downloader.Blackbeard. This was first detected on May 4, 2014 and infects computers using Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows Me, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows NT, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008, Windows Vista, and Windows 7. Judging from its structure the Trojan could also be infecting Windows 8 and Windows 10 operating systems although no confirmed reports have surfaced yet but could be a great possibility. To remove Downloader.Blackbeard Trojan, you would have to prepare the right tools and do a lot of research.

Once the Trojan has invaded your computer system, it will disable almost all of its security and open a backdoor where it will download more malware like adware, trackware, and spyware to extract information that would be useful to the like your personal and credit card information.  Extracting important and personal data from target computers is more or less the primary purpose of the malware that are written these days.  If you are infected with this malware, it is strongly recommended that you erase your hard drive and reformat your computer. All your data will be lost during that process but it is the safest way to go. If you want to remove Dowloader.Blackbeard without erasing your data you can follow the steps below.

The first step in removing Downloader.Blackbeard is to boot your computer to safe mode and it is necessary to stop all processes related to the malware. To do this you need to run a program called RKill. Once all those malicious processes are removed, you can now run full scans of anti-malware programs like SuperAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes. These are programs that almost guaranteed to remove malware. Running these scans, you must restart your computer for the changes to take effect.  

Once the Trojan has been cleansed from your computer you must now install an effective antivirus and firewall software and continuously update it to prevent more infections in the future.
